For Your First Visit
Please bring your insurance card, photo ID, and referral if required by your insurance company. It will be helpful to bring a list of your current medications and a copy of recent lab work or imaging studies that are relevant to your visit. Any other pertinent medical records you bring will be reviewed.
What to expect at your first visit
Your first visit may take 2-3 hours depending on the complexity of your problem, what tests may be performed during the visit, and our schedule. You will begin with one of our experienced nurses, and depending on your problem, you may proceed to a breathing test and/or allergy testing. Allergy testing is often helpful for our doctors to understand your hypersensitivities and inflammation responses and diagnose and treat your problems. We recommend you wear a short-sleeve shirt to permit easier access to your skin for allergy testing.
Please do not take antihistamine allergy medication three (3) days prior to your first office visit because antihistamines will block allergy testing.
You do not have to stop other medications such as blood pressure or cholesterol medications. You should not stop your asthma inhaler medications. Non-antihistamine allergy medications such as Montelukast (Singulair) and anti-inflammatory nasal sprays, such as Flonase, Rhinocort, Nasocort, may be continued as they are not anti-histamines.
